Description: 每逢案件搜查都狀況百出的警視廳搜查一課刑警南波陽人在某一天，被搜查一課長給叫了過去。原來上頭勒令中止由帝都大學法學系教授負責的《犯罪搜查百年史》的編修，需要南波代為前往道歉。南波邊嚷著「我不是為了做這種事才當的刑警」邊心不甘情不願地提著伴手禮前往，沒想到卻在那碰到了…下任校長候補人選的屍體在講台上被發現了！而且是從講台天花上被吊下來，帷幕上佈滿了耐人尋味的數字暗號…在案發現場，出現了一個對事件頗感興趣的男人，原來他正是南波此行要拜見之人–上知天文下知地理的文科天才、別名「知識巨人」的宇野邊叡古。
