Description: 富商凌顯光（楊群飾）的大福百貨瀕臨倒閉，女兒凌家敏（汪明荃飾）勸他讓萬眾銀行董事長鄭世昌（鄭少秋飾）入股。凌顯光認為凌家敏的野心太大，不予信任，反與從美國回港的凌家業（梁朝偉飾）共謀對策，但凌家業不幸撞車身亡，凌顯光飽受喪子之痛，又被鄭世昌壓逼，最後宣布破產。凌家敏與鄭世昌吞併大福百貨的計劃告吹，凌家敏為發展事業，利誘林靈芝（戚美珍飾）離開鄭世昌，然後與鄭世昌結婚。
