Description: 香港重光後，社會一片混亂，駱中興(周潤發飾)家族和鄧沛儒的上海幫展開連場惡鬥。中興利用養子康鈞(關禮傑飾)賣命，自己幕後操縱，想以清白面目打入上流社會。 沛儒被陰險手下吳日天陷害，取其位而代之。日天野心侵食駱氏家族，勾結對中興有異心之結拜兄弟陸海(曾江飾)，中興得悉，先發制人，派康鈞往除陸海，卻因此令康鈞得悉身世秘密，生父竟是中興所殺，開始對中興懷恨在心，恩怨交纏。期間，兩人竟同時愛上女護士舒薇(龔慈恩飾)，康鈞難以抉擇，唯有退出逃避。 康鈞走投無路，逃亡澳門投靠苦力林祖。林祖與好友王帝權走私火水，自立門戶，在澳門建立勢力。 中興被綁，舒薇來澳向康鈞求救，康鈞再被捲入漩渦，兩人舊情復熾之際，單戀鈞的中興二女雲芝卻又追到。康鈞一次酒後誤事，令雲芝懷了自己骨肉，舒薇傷心失望，而中興、舒薇、康鈞三人的感情事更趨複雜。 另一方面，中興查出綁架乃日天策劃，殺日天報復。剩下中興、康鈞和林祖三股惡勢力對峙，鬥爭進入緊張的局面，不知鹿死誰手。
